Reminders and call-backs

Reminders you never set.

A reminder app helps you put the next action somewhere you will see it. Teriara’s morning briefing is live today, while reminders created automatically from conversations are in early access. You can use a simple list or calendar now, and see what Teriara is building for call-backs and follow-through.

Make a reminder you can act on

A useful reminder says what to do, who it involves and when to return to it. “Call Mom Sunday afternoon” gives you more to work with than “family.” For work, include the reason: “Call Jordan about the revised estimate.” Keep the wording short enough to understand at a glance.

If a conversation leaves you with a promise, capture it in your current task list or calendar as soon as you can. Choose a time that fits the action, then add a little context so the prompt makes sense later. This basic routine works for a call back reminder, a follow-up email or a personal check-in.

How Teriara works

  1. Start your day with a briefing. The morning briefing is live and gives you a concise view to help you orient around what is ahead.
  2. Have your calls and meetings. Focus on the conversation and the people in it.
  3. Review what needs follow-through. Follow-up drafts after calls and meetings are live for you to review, edit and send. Reminders created from conversations are in early access, so use your existing list for those actions today.

Nothing is sent without you. A reminder generated from a conversation is not a live capability yet; it is in early access. You decide what to do with drafts that Teriara prepares, and you can edit or ignore them.

Who it's for

A reminder app can help when your day includes more small commitments than you can reliably carry in your head. Professionals may need to call a client after a meeting, send a proposal or check whether a decision has arrived. Friends and family may want a prompt to call someone back, plan a birthday message or make time to catch up.

If you want practical ideas for staying in touch, see keeping in touch with people you care about and the guide to birthday reminders. For people who find that tasks slip after an interruption, our ADHD follow-through tools and tips offer low-pressure ways to capture the next step. You can also compare options in the best reminder apps.

Some searches point to a specific device or service. A reminder app for Android can be a calendar or task tool already on your phone; choose one you check and test its notifications. For a voice reminder app, say or dictate a short action into a tool you already use, then confirm it saved the right date and wording. For messaging or email, use the task and reminder controls available in the service you already use.

Today and early access

Live today: Teriara offers a morning briefing, briefs before calls, follow-up drafts after calls and meetings, and reply drafts based on the conversation. You review and edit drafts, then send them yourself. People pages show what you talked about last and what to ask next. These tools help you prepare and follow through, but they do not automatically create a reminder when someone says “call me next week.”

In early access: Teriara is building the ability to catch promises, to-dos and call-backs from calls on its own, including reminders set from conversations. This is partial early access. Do not assume every commitment will be caught or rely on it as your only reminder system. Keep using your calendar or task list for anything you need to act on.

A separate birthday reminder app or recurring calendar event may be the right fit for annual dates. For a simple system, save the date once, set an alert with enough lead time, and decide what gesture you want to make. See the birthday reminder guide for setup ideas. If a call leaves you needing to write someone afterward, our page on follow-up drafts explains what Teriara can do live.

A simple way to set reminders now

Until conversation-based reminders are ready, write each action as a verb plus a person or subject, then add a date or time. “Send Lee the contract by Thursday” is easier to act on than “Lee.” Put the reminder in one place you already check, such as your phone’s task app or calendar, and avoid entering it in several places where alerts may compete.

For recurring personal dates, add a yearly calendar event and set an alert several days ahead if you need time to plan. A birthday reminder app free of extra setup may simply be the calendar you already use. For follow-up work, link the reminder to the email or meeting context if your current tool allows it. Confirm the notification is enabled; a reminder that never appears cannot help you follow through.

If you are searching for a Gmail follow-up reminder, an Outlook follow-up reminder or a Slack reminder, use that service’s current task or reminder controls and check its help materials. Teriara does not claim those integrations. A quick manual task with a date is a dependable fallback while you wait for the right integration or capability.

Frequently asked questions

How to send a friendly reminder?

Keep it brief, kind and specific: name the shared context, say what you are checking on, and make the next step clear. For example, “Hi Alex, a quick reminder about the draft we discussed Tuesday. How to set a Slack reminder?

Use Slack’s current reminder feature or help instructions, then check that the reminder shows the right wording and time. Use Slack current help instructions for its reminder feature. You can also add the task to a calendar or list you already check.
